Create an Autoblog Website

Create an Autoblog Website

Many bloggers have experimented with autoposting, Wp Robot is one of the best autoblogging solutions available....easy to use and keeps your blogs fresh!

Wordpress Info found on ezinearticles.com

Having seen on many forums quite a few articles, I was intrigued on how one person could have over a thousand sites. Then I found the concept of the autoblog. The basic idea of the autoblog site is that the site you create will get its content from other relevant sites on the internet; you should then never have to touch it or write articles for it.

You need to have a website running to start and I would recommend using WordPress for this. WordPress is free and fairly easy to install for someone with a reasonable amount of computer knowledge. I can't say as I have seen autoblog software on anything but WordPress sites, but of course I stand to be corrected. Once you have the WordPress site running you will need to install the autoblog software. Again this is fairly straight forward, the main problem people have is getting the software, via cron to update the posts.

Although once up and running the site will look after itself. You will have to find the source of the content your self. This is done by pointing the autoblog software at an RSS feed. RSS stands for "Really Simple Syndication" and is a means for website owners to publish part or all of their latest information in a feed format. What this means is that you could have a reader on your desktop feeding you information from your favorite websites. If you have any seen a news ticker scrolling across a screen or website that is a form of feed. Normally the feed will have a clickable link so if it takes your interest you can click through to the source article. Autoblog software takes this a little further and actually posts the information onto your website.

To find the content, all you have to do is go to relevant websites and see if they have a link to an RSS feed. You can also use Google and type in RSS and the subject you are interested in. It might say it in text or it might be a small orange button which you can click. Normally this will then show the type of information they are displaying. I find it very difficult to find full feeds which are naturally better than summary feeds as it does fill out your website better.

I would also say check the data you are getting for the first week or so. I recently put up a nice feed on DVD reviews and found it then spent the next three weeks having the US election news.

This illustrated step by step guide, shows you everything you need to create a WordPress website and then add an autoblog plug in to automatically fill it with content.
